There are many people in this world who say that they survive to eat, rather than eat to survive and that perhaps sums up the importance of eating as an activity. Eating not only determines our physical health fitness, but also the conditions of our mental fitness levels. More than exercising, eating is important as it determines what we put inside our body. So it is extremely important to eat healthy. A healthy diet determines the fate of our lives. It determines our success levels and also probably how we handle our failures.
There are plenty of benefits of eating healthy. It is said that no one can ever come across an obese centenarian. This saying tells us straight away that proper/ healthy eating helps us to increase our physical longevity. When the expression healthy eating is used, generally that includes “proper eating” as well as “eating in right quantities”. The first benefit of eating healthy is that by doing so we are putting less of toxic substances inside our body. Thus, the job gets more than half done. In such a case, less exercise would be required. Another great benefit of eating healthy is that by doing so we can also take care of our mental health. Mental health is of prime importance. There are lots of food stuffs like fast foods, drinks with high percentage of caffeine and sugar, other inorganic substances etc. that when consumed regularly or in large amounts can cause irreparable damages in the way of mental irritation, loss of temper, increased sweating etc. Thus, one of the benefits of eating healthy is that the mind is fresh. It remains young. Hence, it can work more, take up more pressure and help us during the hours of struggle. Another amazing benefit of eating healthy can be found in co-morbid patents. Sugar is itself not toxic. But it is highly ‘toxic’ for those suffering from diabetes mellitus. So, whether a food that we take regularly, is healthy or not, depends on the condition of the person who is taking it. There are plenty of foods like this. Salt cannot be consumed in unlimited amounts by those suffering from hypertension. Lentils and tomatoes cannot be consumed by those suffering from gout. Preferably everyone should try to avoid carcinogenic substances like monosodium glutamate. Thus, one of the benefits of eating healthy is that it helps to control diseases.
To conclude, it can be remarked in a nutshell that eating healthy helps to maintain health i.e. good health. Thus, it produces some happy humans for the society. A happy mind enjoys what it is doing, it is thinking. Thus, the greatest benefit of eating healthy is that by doing so we ensure the maintenance of happiness and development of the human civilization. This civilization of today is the result of hard work and sacrifice of generations. Hence, we cannot fritter away the advantage that we have got. It is the duty of every living person to eat healthy and let not only her/ him, but the whole society derive the benefits of it.
